[Video Interview] Bryan Christopher Moss, Painter, Illustrator, and Muralist
We chat with Bryan C. Moss about his abstract oil painting featured in the Columbus Museum of Art
in this episode of Art is Hard, Alicia Disantis interviews Bryan Christopher Moss, a painter, illustrator and comic book artist based in Columbus, Ohio. We discuss one of Moss's paintings, a nature-inspired abstract oil painting called "Forest." Moss and I discuss his painting process, growing up with limited resources, and why shopping at Lowe's for art supplies is the best.
About our Guest
As a self-taught artist, Moss focuses on creating impact and camaraderie within the arts community. His commercial clients include Marvel Comics, Cirque du Solei, Sprite, Coca-Cola, White Castle, Easton Town Center and a long-time partnership with the Columbus Arts.
He curated the exhibition “The Black Panther: Celebrating 50+ Years of Black Superheroes” for the King Arts Complex, and his paintings have been featured in exhibitions at Harvard, MAC Worthington, and Art/Space Lima.
His first solo exhibition, “About Time: The Art of Bryan Moss” debuted at the Columbus Museum of Art in 2022. His first graphic novel, The Eightfold Path, which was written by Steve Barnes and Charles Johnson, was published by the Megascope imprint at Abrams Comic Arts in 2022. He is currently at work on his comics series for kids, Rita’s Dream.
