Leadership Team

Alicia Disantis, Owner, brand strategist, and designer, 38th & Kip studio

Alicia founded 38th & Kip back in 2010 in the midst of the Great Recession. A traditional fine artist turned designer, brand strategist, and writer, she walks the line between right- and left-brained. She is passionate about helping purpose-driven brands who are doing good in the world.

Alicia is inspired by retro design, Scandinavian minimalism, street art, and bold colors. She looks to branding and design masters of the past for guidance, and contemporary trends of today for inspiration. A believer that higher education is a right and not a privilege, she serves on the Board of Directors for Red Rocks Community College and teaches marketing at Mary Baldwin University - schools that both have a 50% minority student body.

Values

  • All companies deserve a powerful brand, not just the very large, and it shouldn’t cost an arm and a leg to get it.

  • Good design is intentional. No decision should be made without reason.

  • Never lie. Speak the truth about your company and don’t be afraid to stand up for what’s right.

Shaun Bernstein, Chief Storyteller, The Write Stuff Agency

Shaun is our mastermind writing partner here at 38th & Kip. He is the owner of the The Write Stuff Agency, a content writing agency based just outside Toronto, Canada. Previously a journalist and a lawyer, he's taken all of those skills and put them to good use helping professionals and businesses better tell their stories. A multiple award winning writer, he focuses on making complicated things simple, and delivering copy for his clients that their clients can connect with, relate to, and most importantly understand! When he's not hunched over a keyboard, Shaun and his wife are usually found at one of their local breweries kicking some butt at trivia night.

Values

  • Content is meant to be understood. If your words are scrambled, hard to understand, and not speaking to your customers and clients, you're leaving business on the table.

  • Tell your story so that people get to know, like, and trust you. When you think everyone's heard it, they haven't. Tell it again.

  • Write to be understood - even if your reader isn't your perfect client, they may be able to tell their friend who is.

What Does 38th & Kip Mean?

Someplace special in Wheat Ridge, Colorado

38th & Kip is short for the crossroads where the firm celebrated its 10th anniversary - the old school Denver enclave of Wheat Ridge, CO. Lovingly referred to as “SweetRidge,” Wheat Ridge is a quickly-growing nook filled with a unique mixture of Mid-Century Modern homes, mesas, auto body shops, and farm animals. It provides constant design and environmental inspiration.

Our Values

Creativity | Positivity | Transparency | Humility

We stand for superior graphic design without the markup. Being honest about the process. Treating the client with a level of respect that one would with a close friend. Putting an end to snooty attitudes from firms. Following through on promises and deadlines.

Our Mission

To provide exceptional and purposeful branding & design services to improve people’s lives.

38th & Kip is committed to a better tomorrow. We do not tolerate racism, bigotry, or injustice. In the words of the late Rep. John Lewis, “When you see something that is not right, not fair, not just, you have to speak up. You have to say something; you have to do something.”

Our clients span a wide variety of industries and sizes, but one thing remains similar: a passion to make things better.
